Sabino After The Flood

It rained and rained and rained in Tucson and then it flooded. This is in Sabino Canyon today several days after the worst of the flooding.

These canyons can be very dangerous, right? I want you to know that your site is among the first that I open ea. morning--not to skip! In addition to the photos, I really like the Southwest and your blogs help me appreciate it even more. I keep returning to Tuesday's blog; SW art is so appealing!

This does not look safe. But then again when I was that age I did many things where were not safe.

Probably it wasn't safe. Part of me wanted the pictures but I was cringing at the risks they took. Too young to think twice and see the adverse possibilities. There are rocky waterfall areas in the mountains here where people go to have fun and some of them are come out on stretchers, badly hurt, sometimes dead. The truth is for me, at least, I enjoyed their youthful bravado even while I knew what they were doing was, or at least appeared to be, pretty risky.

And yes part of me wanted to do it too.

Kate I like looking at Zuniga's work again too. I have one of his lithographs as my computer wallpaper right now.
