With some irony, we refer to our summer rainy season as the Monsoons. Its hot and humid, the thunderstorms race through in the afternoons and the roads flood in areas prone to flash flooding.

Hi Mark - It was fluke, just happened to be there with my camera. Drove through the wash myself and then got out and took the picture.

Hi Alice - So far so good. Sometimes unfortunately people do get killed in flooded washes.

Hi Luggi - Well there was differing approaches - some people were blasting on through and others had parked and were thinking it over.

One thing I always loved about living in AZ was the monsoon season... not the humidity, but when the sky decides to open up and all that water flies... there is nothing like it!

Hi Jenni - I feel the same way. The thunderstorms cool things off and leave the air so clear and clean. I've gotten a whole new appreciation for rain since I moved here. The Monsoons are new life, literally.
