Up In A Tree

Green Heron perched near the top of a mesquite. Not the normal place to see them. I had to kind of stalk him so he's looking plenty nervous and in fact took off and flew away shortly after I took the photo.

For great bird photos from the last few days check out Nerissa's eagle and KL daily photo on the 24th.

Congrats to Kris for her 100th daily photo.

Fantastic shot! It's so exciting to capture wildlife. This is framed so beautifully. Great job!

I have a point&shoot so this required lots of cropping. I was just thrilled the heron let me get close enough to get this good a look at it. I'm always sneaking up on birds/wildlife and getting pictures of a foot, the blur of a wing, a tail, whatever disappearing off the frame.
