The Casbah Tea House

A restaurant I enjoy, though I visit infrequently. They describe themselves as vegetarian, eco-friendly, organic, eclectic - any one of which makes them unusual in Tucson. Certainly there are few restaurants here that are entirely vegetarian. And they have belly dancers. The owner's story is interesting - found on their website.

Very very cool. Maybe I should paint the apartment that way. A great pick-me-up after a grey icky day.

I was all ready to hop on a plane and come out to try it -- until you said "vegetarian"! All the restaurants I've ever been to with Casbah in their name have been Morrocan and serve lamb with their belly dancers. ;-)

Nerissa, I love the colors. I live in a culture that doesn't generally like bright colors on building so I'm always pleased to find something like this.

Hi Marie - Hadn't thought of that. I guess that's were the eclectic comes in. Whatever struck their fancy, cultural reference-wise. There are some actual Moraccan restaurants in Tucson (with lamb).

I enjoyed this photo and the link to the restaurant. I have a picture from its previous location:

It's been so long since I was in Tucson. Maybe we visit again soon...
